What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

My stay in Texas ends today.  All my stuff is packed up and ready to load. I'm having my coffee while I put this post together. It's been a fun visit with Grad Girl.  We had a lazy weekend. I sewed at the dining room table, she played video games on the couch while we binge watched shows on Disney.  So pretty much a perfect weekend.

My apologies that the post is a lot late today.  Grad Girl and I went to a quilt retreat yesterday and didn't get home till late. I completely forgot about the post for today and pretty much went right to bed and then slept really late (for me anyway). 

There's been a lot of 2024 wrap up and 2025 planning in blog land this week.  Hopefully this is my last wrap up of 2024.  I track my stitching time by year, so cut off 2024 last Tuesday.  So here's my final metrics for last year.

This was my second full year of being retired.  I learned some lessons last year and made some different choices for this year. Not sure I've got it all figured out, but I'm in a better place this year than I was last year.  I think that showed in my blog posts. My sister and I left Oklahoma for Texas on Thursday and got back home Monday night.  That left us Friday, Saturday and Sunday for lots of crafty stuff.  I found a great rental to use for our retreat.  

The dining room table was big enough for 3 sewing machines. Just mine and my sister's are set up in the photo.  We were able to use the center island for cutting and pressing.  It was a very user friendly set up.

We are in the middle of our girl's weekend.  I spent most of the week getting ready to sew all weekend. So it's been another good week on the stitching front.  

• 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
• 15 minute days/Oct = 19/19 days
• 15 minute days/2024 = 293/293 days
• Success rate = 100%

It's been a busy week. Grad Girl and I spent one day in Tulsa and then another in Oklahoma City.  We had fun, but it did impact my stitching time this week.  I managed my 15 minutes every day, but sometimes not much more than that. It's OK, she heads back to school tomorrow.  I'm glad we had a chance to hang out so much while she was home.

Happy 2nd day of Christmas. That's the way My Guy greeted me this morning.  My family does our big celebration on Christmas Eve, that allows all of us married people the opportunity to spend Christmas day with the our in-law side of the family. There's a longer story to why it works that way, but we'll leave that for another time.  We don't do a big celebration with My Guy's family since his mother passed, so we just pretty much just vegged out on Christmas Day. The last stitching stuff post was back in June, 14 weeks ago.  I really didn't intend for my break to last that long, especially not the break from my sewing room.  It's been a struggle to get back into my habit of heading to the sewing room for at least 15 minutes every day so my metrics really do look sad.
